Mechanic Shop in Texas Panhandle

Get to Know Aardvark Automotive & Robert Archer

What’s in a Name?

Aardvark Automotive got its signature mascot and name when owner Robert Archer ventured to start an auto repair shop in Amarillo, and flipped open the dictionary for name inspiration. He got as far as “aardvark” and laughed at the idea. But, as we all know now, the name would stick—and lead us to the front of the pack, not only in the dictionary but also in quality of service and automotive skill and experience.

On January 15, 2017, Aardvark Automotive celebrated 37 years of service in the Texas Panhandle. Robert, himself, now has nearly 50 years of auto repair experience, with 34 of those years as a business owner. He is also ASE Master certified, with significant expertise working on high-end and import vehicles. Today, Aardvark Automotive is known as Amarillo’s best dealership alternative for luxury cars.

  • Lynda Archer - Director/Receptionist/Bookkeeper at Aardvark Automotive
    Lynda ArcherMarketing Director-Receptionist-Bookkeeper

In May 2009, Lynda Archer left a 20-year nursing career to join her husband, Robert, at Aardvark Automotive, as marketing director, receptionist, and bookkeeper. In these roles, she enjoys the fast pace of the shop and visiting with customers.

But Wheels to Prosper is Lynda's favorite project at Aardvark. She thinks the program, which gives a car to a deserving person who does not have transportation is awesome!! In many cases, it means a family will be able to gain employment, keep a job, or just to go to the grocery store or a doctor's appointment. (That is BIG!!!)

Lynda's hobbies are cooking, crafting, shopping, and spending time with the grandchildren.
